2020 Kona Process 153: Everything you need to know
The 2020 Kona Process 153 is the latest version of a seriously fun mountain bike. There is now a 29″ wheeled version and eight different models in the range.
Who is it for?
The 2020 Kona Process 153 is an enduro bike. Therefore, it has lots of travel and great capability for taking on tough terrain. This bike is for those that ride the rough stuff and want to be grinning the whole time. These bikes are also really durable, so you have less chance of it letting you down mid ride.
Details
The 2020 Kona Process 153 has carbon or alloy options. In the past Kona have developed a great reputation for building very strong and durable frames. Each bike comes in really eye-catching colours, that look super cool.
The geometry is up to date with the modern figures. This means that it is low and slack, giving you excellent stability on fast, technical descents. The geometry isn’t as slack as other enduro bikes, but it will have a nimble and energetic feeling on the trail.
The rear suspension system, is a linkage tuned single pivot design. The rear shock is activated by a huge rocker that has a huge bearing. This give the bike a feeling of robustness, when you are charging over the rougher sections of trail.
You get 153mm of travel on the back end. It has a plush feeling and supports you well in the mid stroke. Other enduro bikes on the market do have a more progressive feel than the Kona Process 153. But, you do get a smooth and responsive ride.
The fork has 160mm of travel. There are different forks depending on which model you choose, but most versions come with RockShox items.
You get the choice between 27.5″ and 29″ wheels to suit your own preferences. These are from WTB and are super strong and wide, without being too heavy. They are pretty easy to set up for tubeless too.
But the really good news is that every model comes with the SRAM Eagle 12 speed drivetrain. This means that you will find it much easier to get to the top of any trail before blasting down.
Dropper seat posts and SRAM brakes are all included too. For extra control, the Kona Process 153 is equipped with wide handlebars and short stems.
All in all, the choices of components Kona have made for the Process 153 are great and will not disappoint. They are durable and are ideal for the bike’s intended use.
