The Mythique was added to the Vitus line up in 2020. Its purpose was to provide riders with a well-priced trail bike with a focus on quality components and providing a dropper post as standard. There have been some changes and improvements to the 2021 Vitus Mythique, and I am going to go through them to help you decide if it is the bike for you.
Who Is The 2021 Vitus Mythique For?
If you want a quality full suspension mountain bike, the 2021 Vitus Mythique is definitely something you should be looking in to. When you look at the Mythique’s specifications and compare them with other similar priced bikes, you will notice that you get a lot for your money.
The 2021 Vitus Mythique has modern geometry. This means it is low and slack, making it a fun and capable mountain bike. The 2021 Vitus Mythique is the perfect bike to progress your skills and have a lot of fun on.
The 2021 Vitus Mythique is for the rider that looks at the trail as a whole. If you want to conquer a particularly technical section on your regular ride, you may want something a bit more substantial.
However, if you can manage to pay the extra go for the VRS or VRX versions over the standard VR. This is because you get much better components that will last longer and give you a much better riding experience.
Details and Changes For 2021
There are three different versions of the 2021 Vitus Mythique available. You can also choose between 27.5″ and 29″ wheel sizes. There is also a version designed specifically for women called the VRW. This has similar components to the men’s version but has narrower handlebars and a shorter stem.
Prices start at £1,249.99/$1,499.99. This is fantastic value for money, especially when you think other brands sell full-suspension frames for more money.
The 2021 Vitus Mythique looks slightly different from the 2020 version. This is down to the redesigned top tube, but there is no mistaking it for a full suspension bike from another brand.
All models have a dropper seat post and a 1x Shimano drivetrain. The geometry is very slightly different from its predecessor. But it still feels like a Mythique to ride, thanks to the four-bar rear suspension linkage. The VR and VRW models have 130mm of travel, while the VRX has 140mm.
On The Trail
The 2021 Vitus Mythique is in its element when climbing, especially when you go for the 29″ wheeled versions. The four-bar suspension linkage does a great job of reducing suspension bob when you are pedalling. This means you can save energy while staying seated, where you would be standing up on the pedals on some other bikes.
When it comes to coming back down the hill, the 2021 Vitus Mythique is more composed and forgiving than some of its rivals. It also has a lively feel to it, while being sure-footed inspiring confidence.
